RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Unlock the Future: Explore Our Innovative Solutions
Research and development are the cornerstones upon which a society facing natural and anthropogenic hazards can build its resilience. Through innovation, one can develop advanced solutions for prevention, mitigation, and management of such risks, safeguarding both the environment and vulnerable communities.
Bridge Management System
Infrastructure plays a fundamental role in the economies of countries and the financial consequences of absence of maintenance increase management costs and waste of resources when failures occur. Recent collapses have put pressure on management authorities to establish standardised procedures to set maintenance priorities. In this direction, the arrival of legislation in 2020, related to the adoption of guidelines for the classification and management of risk and the assessment of the safety of existing bridges, represented a radical change in the panorama of the management of these assets.
RESISK is developing an application capable of providing advanced operational support to bridge managers, allowing them to obtain a more refined priority ranking, which is particularly useful when dealing with a large portfolio of structures.
Toolbox for ground motion record selection and processing
A detailed understanding of the seismic hazard in the area of interest allows one to make informed decisions and improve the safety of structures, optimise the design, be competitive in tenders for new design or assess existing structures/infrastructure.
With such in mind, RESISK has joined the development of a user-friendly web app, continuously updated, which allows you to:
-
select accelerograms in accordance with different national and international regulatory codes, or according to research-based approaches;
-
carry out filtering and analysis operations on seismic recordings;
-
perform Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA) and disaggregation analysis, through a user-friendly interface connected to the open-source platform OpenQuake;
-
select accelerograms for scenario-based and time-based analyses.
