Ricardo is Associate Professor at IUSS Pavia. Originally from Porto, Portugal, he obtained his Civil Engineering Degree and European PhD in Earthquake Engineering before moving to Pavia in 2010. He started as a Post-Doc researcher, becoming Assistant Professor in 2011, Associate Professor in 2019, and obtaining the habilitation as Full Professor in 2022. Ricardo's expertise lies in seismic risk assessment, with involvement in numerous European projects. He currently coordinates the PhD in Earthquake Engineering (ROSE School), is a Senior Advisor for EUCENTRE, in Pavia, and affiliated Researcher with the CONSTRUCT R&D Centre in Porto. With extensive teaching and research coordination experience, Ricardo has contributed significantly to the field through the coordination of more than 10 national and international research projects, 82 peer-reviewed publications, and mentoring of 14 PhD students.
